Narrative Nomad
A Literature Blog
About the Author
My name is Emily Mazzara. I like to consider myself a student of the world. Through travel and reading I try to connect with as many different people, cultures, and experiences as I can. I started this blog as a student project in my second year at university and have been making strides into growing it ever since.

Something important you, dear reader, should know is that reading and travel are two sides of the same coin to me. They both give you the ability to jump into a different life and explore for a while. Read a book and become a fairy in a high court. Travel to France and see how it feels to live among centuries of royal history. I mean, who doesn't love a little bit of escapism.

Above it all else, my biggest obsession is stories. I think everyone and everything is made up of stories. Science, history, philosophy, it is all just millions of tales woven through time by an endless line of storytellers. An important part of keeping a community, a culture, a tradition, or a story alive, is to share it. Stories are the best way to accomplish that. I want this blog to be an extension of the tradition.
To prove I have some accreditation for giving opinions and suggestions in reading and writing let me give you my background. I have a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing with a specialization in Publishing and Editing. My work has been published in four literary magazines and I have a quoted byline on the cover of a novel. I have also interned for two publishing companies and a literary magazine.
The Dream
I love writing, but I’m not trying to become an author (if I do, awesome, but it’s not the ultimate goal). My passion has always weighed more heavily on the side of reading. In college, I’ve found a love of editing other people’s work. For those not familiar with the industry, essentially I want to be Sandra Bullock from The Proposal (Ryan Reynolds' look alike and all). I want to work with authors in the beginning stages of editing where large scale edits take place. The goal is to be able to choose which authors and stories I want to work on or have authors search me out, but honestly, anything that steeps me entirely in the world of books will make me the happiest worker in the world.
